Immersed in Art on Lopez Island | Seattle Photography Mentoring

Early this summer, I had the opportunity to visit Lopez Island to work with gifted artist Amanda McCauley. Amanda creates incredible mixed media work using a variety of natural elements including fresh and pressed flowers, seaweed, and other natural materials.

In the few days I spent with Amanda, I was given a first hand look at her process and was able to witness her create her work from start to finish. We began early in the morning, foraging for fresh seaweed and followed Amanda’s meticulous process for creating beautiful art pieces from that seaweed. Follow along on her website and socials to see the pieces as she releases them later this year.
