An Afternoon along the Oregon Coast

On the second of my adventures in Oregon, we set out for the coast.  We knew ultimately, we'd end up at Tillamook to sample their cheese and ice cream, but otherwise we had no agenda.  We shopped along the way at antique stores and tiny boutiques.  Our first peek at the shore was when we crossed the wide beaches at Sand Lake Recreation Area.

The grey skies and misty day made the water the most spectacular color.  Every mile we drove, the skies and water changed.  I was in awe of the Christmas trees growing right along the coastline.

Our final stop was a visit to the Cape Meares Lighthouse.  It's the cutest little thing.  So tiny that it's hard to believe it's real!

One day I hope to return to the coast for more time exploring.  It's so different than our east coast beaches, it seems surreal.
