Yellow Bellied Sap Sucker

One of my favorite parts of winter are the beautiful visitors who pass through Virginia Beach on their way to warmer weather.  I was thrilled to look out my window one afternoon and find a pair of Yellow Bellied Sap Suckers quarreling in the tree.  After some research on what these beautiful birds were, I learned that they were just stopping through.  I was so glad that my camera was handy and I was able to catch the male through the window as he ate berries off the tree.
