The Saltwater Retreat Experience Guest Post by Lori
Lori attended the 2019 Saltwater Retreat for women photographers on Nags Head, North Carolina. Today she is sharing her thoughts and favorite photographs from the experience.
I was lucky enough to attend the Saltwater Retreat in the Outer Banks Islands with Jennifer Carr. I was enamored with the Outer Banks before even visiting because of the beautiful imagery Jenny always shared of where she lived. The Saltwater Retreat was a true retreat with a cozy, relaxing, and pampered feeling.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed with vases of garden-grown flowers in each of our rooms. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom in a sunny large home with lots of space to spread out and "retreat" if needed. And the beach was right across the street!
The other really amazing thing about this retreat was the delicious home-cooked meals and snacks. This was such a special touch that made the trip so relaxing. I'm talking fresh-baked cookies from scratch!!!
The photo opportunities during the Saltwater Retreat were varied - you could shoot the vast seascapes on the beach, wave action, piers, fishermen, sunrise and sunsets, shells and beach grass, birds, lighthouses, sand dunes, and the quaint town of Manteo nearby. Something for everyone!
Here are some of my favorite images captured during this time with Jenny. If this has you intrigued, please follow the link below to check out one of Jennifer's next retreats! I would highly recommend it and I would love to do another one day soon, myself.
The Saltwater Retreat is a womenβs photography retreat and creativity workshop designed to educate, inspire and help you become the photographer you long to be. Held on the shores of Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks of North Carolina, this is chance for women photographers to spend a week immersing themselves in the craft of creating photographs without the distractions of home, this photography trip is more of a vacation than a workshop. I invite you to join me at the next Saltwater Retreat.
