The Nostalgic Charm of Manteo - Saltwater Retreat Photo Walk

Hello there friends. Today I’m sharing with you the story of a photo walk through the adorable town of Manteo in North Carolina’s Outer Banks during last fall’s Saltwater Retreat. What is your favorite tiny town that you’ve visited? Tell me about it in the comments.

October is my favorite time to visit Manteo. The village holds so much charm, fully embracing fall and my favorite holiday- Halloween. We always spend a day exploring Manteo on a photo walk The Saltwater Retreat, but it had been some time since I had wandered the streets of the village, admiring the small town beauty and nostalgic sights.

Manteo residents obviously take great pride in their town, each home holding its own unique charm and appeal.

Despite being in the middle of October, it seems there is always something blooming in Manteo. I stumbled upon this beautiful pomegranate tree and spend so much time photographing it that it almost deserves it’s own post.

Bikes seem to be everywhere in this town, gears not required. These sights make me long for my old yellow beach cruiser, white basket tucked on the front to hold my treasures from whatever adventure I was on.

The neighbors seem to have a special ability to decorate, using humor and charm in their displays.

Manteo offers the ability to travel back in time where life moved a little slower and things were a little simpler.

Thank you for joining me In Search of Wonder through the village of Manteo. Until next time.

💛 Jenny
