The Magic After the Snow

The morning after the snowstorm, I awoke to gorgeous light streaming in through the sunroom windows.  Is it just me or is the light following snow the most magical of all light?  The backyard was covered in a thick blanket of snow, at least a foot or so.  I spent a few hours enjoying the view through the windows before I stepped out to explore. I layered up in my best mountaineering gear and my knee high boots and made my way through the backyard into the wetlands.  The forest was like something out of a fairy tale, all of the decay of winter covered in beautiful white powder.  Between you and me, I was kind of hoping it would never melt.
