Sunrises, Sunsets, and Starry Nights at Cape Hatteras National Seashore

A rare silver lining of 2020 is our ability to live "bicoastal."  We spent most of July at our cottage on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  The beach is truly where I feel most at home, so it was wonderful to escape to the quiet island.  The weather was nearly perfect, with beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and nights filled with stars. With careful planning and a streak of clear nights, I was able to photograph the Milky Way twice. Sunrises were spent along the shores of Avon near the Avon Fishing Pier and sunsets dipped into the Pamlico Sound. These are a few of my favorite from our summer in Hatteras.
