Our first volunteer post in Ecuador was in the tiny town of Ballenita. We were housed in a local home with two incredible hosts who provided us with meals and guidance as we worked as volunteers. During our downtime, we explored the town, taking in the local fish shacks for almuerzo- lunch, Ecuadorian’s largest meal of the day; enjoying the wild hibiscus flowers, and the beautiful church.
