Oregon's Hidden Gem- White River Falls State Park

White River Falls State Park is a remote park in central Oregon. The falls are impressive, with a 90 foot cascade landing in a pool before tumbling into the lower falls. The river’s white appearance is caused by the glacial silt from the White River Glacier on the flanks of Mount Hood. At the base of the falls sits the ruins of Oregon’s first hydroelectric plant- sadly a place filled with trash and graffiti. But the shores of the river are beautiful, in spite of the destruction.
