January 2017 Daily Photography Practice

January is such a quiet month.  After the chaos of the holidays, the end of every photographer's busy season and the general day to day responsibilities, January is a time for cleaning up, putting away, catching up, reflecting, listening, and resting.  I spent much of my January feeling grateful for all that 2016 brought me.  I'm looking forward to becoming a little more calm in 2017, though.  I found myself stretched thin in 2016, feeling slightly unraveled at times.  This year, I'll be working hard on accepting things as they are, taking my time enjoying life and moments because they will pass by so quickly.  I'll be saying no when I might have said yes.  I'll be just having fun with it.

This is a collection of my favorite images I created in January.  A sort of visual gratitude journal for each of those fleeting moments.
