15 Favorite Seascapes from 2015

It's no secret that my favorite thing to photograph is the sea.  Sunrise, sunset, full sun, cloudy, cold, warm, the conditions aren't important.  No two moments on a shoreline are ever the same, no matter how often I return to the same place.  Here are my favorite seascapes from 2015. Sunrise at the Frisco Pier, the doves have taken possession of the pier house.

Sunset on the Pamlico Sound on Hatteras Island last spring, I love that the shoreline, the sound, and the different colored sky create multiple layers.

A winter wave in Buxton, North Carolina was beautiful despite the cold.

This sunset at the Avon Harbor was magical as the Pamlico Sound was as smooth as glass.  The slight ripples were created by the diving cormorants looking for dinner.

Sunset aboard the Ocracoke - Hatteras Island Ferry was the perfect end to a day trip on this fall evening.

Sunrise at the Little Island Fishing Pier in Sandbridge was warm and welcoming as the fisherman cast their rods.

A winter sunrise at the Little Island Fishing Pier, the long exposure technique made the water appear frozen.

Sunset at Camp Helen's State Park in Panama City, FL was beautiful on this spring evening.

The First Jetty in Hatteras sits decaying as the salt water eats at the material.  The Jetty will slowly fade into the ocean in time.

Sunrise at the Frisco Pier in Hatteras.  The middle section of the pier still stands tall as the Atlantic slowly tears away at it.

Sunrise at Avon Beach in the Outer Banks was beautiful as the sky was painted pink.

Forrest watches the sunrise from the standup paddleboard as I watch from the shore.

This fence guards the dunes as the sun rises at Little Island in Sandbridge.

A magical sky as the sun rises at the Avon Fishing Pier in the Outer Banks.

A cool, stormy day at the Frisco Pier.  The long exposure technique calmed the seas to showcase the deterioration of the pier.
