Chasing Sunset along the Big Sur Coast

There’s no other way to say it… Big Sur is breathtaking. Everywhere you turn, something more beautiful than the last view appears. We had intended to watch sunset from Pfeiffer Beach, but everyone else visiting the coast had that same idea and got there earlier than us. So, we headed south along the shoreline looking for the perfect spot for sunset. Not wanting to stray too far from our campground, we ended up at an overlook near McWay Falls. Despite the trail being closed to the McWay Falls viewpoint, we were able to find a wonderful spot to see the rare waterfall from the side of highway 1.
