Beauty in the Grey Day at Stumpy Lake

When the fog sets in, my favorite place to go in Virginia Beach is to Stumpy Lake.  There is just something magical about the lake under these conditions.  The trees that stand in the middle of the lake are set apart with the coat of grey surrounding them.  The birds seem to come out of hiding and the whole lake takes on a life of it's own.  Many places don't thrive under these conditions, but Stumpy seems to shine when there isn't much light at all.

I had been running errands when the fog set in and I just happened to have my Sony a9 and 24-70 lens in my bag, so I swung by the lake with a car full of groceries and fingers crossed that the ice cream didn't melt.
