First Look: Photographing the Stunning Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho

Along the drive into Sawtooth National Forest, Idaho

Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains have to be one of the United State’s best kept secrets. Directly west of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, the Sawtooth range is a National Forest. I suppose the upside is that this keeps the crowds down and the chaos to a minimum. We planned a last minute trip over the Independence Day holiday after a California trip was cancelled due to snowpack. As much as I want to explore all that California has to offer, I’m so glad that we made this trip as Idaho has become one of our favorite places we’ve visited in the U.S. The view from the road was so breathtaking that this region is accommodating for anyone to visit.
