Crater Lake- The Bluest Blue You Ever Did See

Late afternoon at Crater Lake National Park, OR

Late afternoon at Crater Lake National Park, OR

Our road trip from northern California to southern Oregon would have been incomplete without a visit to Crater Lake National Park. Despite all that I had heard about this special place, I was blown away by it’s beauty. The color of the water is the most amazing blue you could imagine and it was particularly blue paired with the beautiful sky on this day.

The clouds rolled in and obscured sunset so we planned to return at sunrise, which dawned crystal clear. We stood on the shoreline, marveling as the rising sun kissed the lake shore. This is a place I will definitely need to return to.
